Hello everyone!☀️
Recently I've been super into hand lettering so I thought I would show you guys how I do it! Above is some lettering that I drew! This intro is really simple and doesn't require any fancy pens or talent. All you will need is a pen and paper, and optionally a pencil. Hand lettering can be done with all types of brush pens and markers, but I just use a regular ballpoint pen to mimic this style. A gel, felt tip, or sharpie pen would work just as well. First, I'll show you how to mimic the brush stroke style, and then I have some helpful tips!

How To Mimic The Brush Stroke Style:
1. First, write out the word in cursive. You can do this first in pencil, or go straight to pen. Make sure your writing is not too close together, that will make the next step harder.
2. Second, on every stroke where you went down with the pen, go back in and make the stroke wider. Try to make the wider parts of the word move smoothly back into the thin parts.
Ta-da!

- Learn from others. Look up hand lettering on Pinterest and be inspired! Find lettering styles you like and then try them yourself. You can also find great quotes on Pinterest, like the quote I choose to draw above!
- Look up fonts you like, type out words, and try to copy that style. It's fun to use many fonts in your work! Look online for cute ones!
- In your pieces, try to balance your lettering styles. For example, mix dark with light, chunky with thin, and block letters with cursive. You can also mix in color!
- Try, try & try again! With practice & creativity, you can't go wrong!
