Hi everyone! Happy Fourth of July.
For the first post EVER to be written on this platform, I'm going to teach you the easiest summer DIY. It's honestly something anyone could do! (even a toddler)
This anklet is crazy cute and crazy simple. I've been wearing these anklets like crazy all through June, and now July. They take 5 minutes to make and are so delicate. It always boosts my mood to be wearing something of my own creation, no matter how little time it took ;).
Also, thanks to my little sister Tessa for modeling!
Here's what you will need.
Embroidery floss or Hemp.
Beads. Any beads, any colors.
Crimp beads. (to keep the beading in place.)
Flat nose pliers.
That's it! Let's get started.
Embroidery floss or Hemp.
Beads. Any beads, any colors.
Crimp beads. (to keep the beading in place.)
Flat nose pliers.
That's it! Let's get started.
First, choose your string. I used hemp. Cut the string so that it is twice as long as the circumference of your ankle/wrist.
The hemp or floss is made out of 6 strings twisted together. Untwist the hemp so there are two parts made out of 3 strings. If your beads will fit over this much string, than proceed to the next step. Otherwise, continue to separate the strings until the beads will fit on the string.
Now for the creative part. You could use any beads in any pattern. However, I chose 3 colors and created my name using morse code. Light pink purple seed beads became my spacer bead, light blue became the dashes, and dark blue the dots.
After you've added beads, you need to add the crimp beads.
Thread the crimp beads onto each side of the beaded pattern. Then, flatten (crimp) the beads with your pliers as close to the other beads in order to make sure the beads don't move around.
Center the bead pattern. If the ends of your hemp/ floss are uneven, trim them. Then, string a bead over both ends.
Push the bead down a bit and tie a knot above it to seal the bracelet. Now it's adjustable!
You're finished! Thanks for reading.
