Hello everyone!
Though the weather is so hot no one would guess summer is coming to an end, school for me resumes mid August. So, yesterday I went out to buy a bunch of new supplies! I have always loved buying new notebooks, pens, and binders. I bought some simple notebooks, but I whipped out my pens, scrapbook paper, and glue as soon as I got home. So today I'll share some ways to make simple notebooks super cute! Hopefully the added color and fun will make me, and you guys, more motivated to do our schoolwork!

One way to make a notebook cuter is to doodle on it! For my first notebook, I used a gold metallic Sharpie to transform a simple white notebook. To draw the mandala flower, draw curved lines, fill those lines with designs, and finish it off with some pretty petals.
Another way to spice up a notebook is by using scrapbook paper! If you're like me, you have overflowing folders of paper scraps; now you can put them to use! For the notebook on the left, I covered it's ugly pattern with cute paper, folding over the edges. Then I sharpied in the area by the rings, and glued down a paint sample for a label. For the notebook on the right, I kept the main pattern but again used scrap paper to cover up the ugly parts. I cut a banner for a label and hand wrote a motivational quote.
The last way I updated a notebook was to add little symbols! I used google to find symbols for things that are important to me, drew them, and then glued them to my notebook. This one happened to have a pocket page, so I glued the symbols & their meanings there. I drew symbols for peace, happiness, wisdom, friendship, strength, love, & dreams; and there are many more you could draw! These little symbols are uplifting and so cute!
I hope you got some inspiration for DIYing your notebooks! Enjoy your summer!
